Ghana's maternal mortality ratio stands at 308 per 100,000 live births — far above the global target of 70. Up to 70% of these deaths are preventable. Not for lack of healthcare workers. Not for lack of facilities. But for lack of coordination, information, and time.

Lost antenatal records. High-risk pregnancies undetected. Referrals that arrive too late because no one tracked them. Health directors making policy without data. These are the failures MOCHCare was built to fix.

Founded by Sophia Mensah Boduwah, MOCHCare is the coordination infrastructure that Ghana's maternal health system has been missing — linking every actor in the care continuum around the mother at the centre.

Sophia Mensah Boduwah founded MOCHCare after witnessing firsthand what happens when Ghana's maternal health system fails — not because of absent healthcare workers, but because of absent coordination, data, and time.

With a background spanning maternal health policy, health systems management and digital health innovation, Sophia built MOCHCare to be the connective infrastructure Ghana's mothers had been missing for decades.

Under her leadership, MOCHCare serves over 50,000 mothers across all 16 regions, with partnerships spanning the Ministry of Health, teaching hospitals, district directorates and international NGOs.
